“I have been going to Miranda for almost two years for my bikini waxes, and I would seriously never go to anyone else. She’s kind, attentive, and offers different products for you to use after your waxes. Her aftercare instructions are helpful and scheduling is easy.”

Your Waxing Questions Answered
-
Brazilian waxing can be uncomfortable, especially for first-time waxers, as it involves the removal of hair from the entire pubic region. However, many people find that the discomfort lessens with subsequent sessions as they become accustomed to the sensation. Choosing a skilled and experienced esthetician helps minimize discomfort through skilled techniques, and the use of high-quality wax.

Brazilian waxing typically provides smooth, hair-free results for about three to four weeks. However, individual hair growth rates and other factors like hormonal changes can affect how long the results last. Regular appointments every few weeks can help maintain smoothness and reduce discomfort.
-
While Brazilian waxing can help reduce ingrown hairs for some individuals, it's not a guaranteed solution. Removing hair from the root during waxing can lead to thinner regrowth, which may decrease the likelihood of ingrown hairs compared to shaving. A routine of exfoliation after waxing can further reduce the risk of ingrown hairs by removing dead skin cells that can block hair follicles. However, individual factors such as skin type, hair texture, and hair growth patterns can also influence the likelihood of ingrown hairs. While Brazilian waxing can contribute to smoother skin and potentially fewer ingrown hairs, it's essential to maintain proper aftercare practices to minimize their occurrence.

For best results, hair should be at least ¼ inch long (about the size of a grain of rice) before your appointment. This is typically 2–3 weeks of growth after shaving. Avoid shaving leading up to your appointment, as wax needs enough hair to grip for effective removal.
If you're a first-time waxer or have been shaving regularly, it's better to come in with a little more length than not enough!

We use Cirépil hard and soft wax. The hard wax is meant to be less painful and using both types of wax ensure that we don’t leave any hair behind.

We strongly suggest not shaving or trimming between visits but we understand that sometimes it’s hard to get to the salon. If possible we suggest making your waxing appointments closer together if you do have the urge to trim or shave in between visits. Sticking with regular waxing treatments will ensure that the hair grows in thinner each time.

You should not wax if you are taking antibiotics, Accutane, Differin, Retin A or any other medications that list “sun-sensitivity” as a symptom. You should also not wax if you have had a medical-grade facial or peel within a week of your appointment.
